Custom Foot Orthotics

Why Orthotics?

What Are Foot Orthotics?

There are many health benefits to orthotic insoles that have been custom-made to your needs including improved gait and reduced pain or preventing degeneration from toe-to-head! If your feet are functioning abnormally, you may experience pain or degenerative problems in other areas of your body over time. Orthotics allow for an improved gait (the way you walk) and better weight distribution, joint and spinal alignment and better overall biomechanics in every step.

During your gait assessment visit, you will complete a dynamic 3D scan as part of your biomechanical evaluation with Dr. Claudia Sacco. A foam impression cast may also be taken if required by the plan. There will be an analysis that determines abnormal foot function, balance and sway, respectively, 150 frames/second resulting in extremely accurate diagnosis and treatment

Know Your Coverage

Although custom orthotic insoles are commonly covered in extended health benefits (insurance) plans, every plan is different and may require specific information regarding each patient's condition and orthotics manufacturing.

For speedy reimbursement from your plan, please check your coverage prior to your appointment in order to ensure that your requirements are met as your claim must be manufactured to the exact specifications of your plan, such as:

  • Prescription Requirements although a detailed letter from our Dr. Sacco (D.C.) is always provided, some plans may require a Doctor’s Note from your Family Physician (M.D.) prior to submitting your claim. *If an M.D. prescription is required, we recommend that you have this prior to your gait assessment appointment.

  • Details of the casting technique to be used to manufacture – (i.e. 3Dmaxx/3D laser/Foam/Plaster Cast/Slipper Cast (which means physical impression/cast) OR a Dynamic Scan (Extrapolation System Foot Orthotic (ESFO)/Extrapolated Volumetric Foot Model (EVFM) (which means through a digital scan). *We always provide a 3D scan as part of the biomechanical assessment, however, if an impression/cast is needed to meet the requirements of the plan for manufacturing, this can also be completed during your gait assessment appointment. *QPC is not responsible for rejected claims.
