Prenatal, Postnatal, and Pediatric Care

Treating Mum's-To-Be & the Whole Family

In our clinic, we support health for the whole family and our approach is safe, gentle and supportive of your abilities and choices.

Providing what is known as "prenatal" (before birth, pregnancy), "postnatal" or "postpartum" (after birth care for Mum and baby), and "pediatric" (children) care, we offer a multi-disciplinary team with advanced expertise and a passion for helping mothers-to-be and their children.

A blend of Chiropractic and massage therapy can greatly help prepare and support the body for pregnancy, and Mum's needs as she progresses towards labour, and delivery while keeping Mum and baby as safe and comfortable as possible. We also collaborate with a network of special midwives and doulas to support our lovely ladies as they progress.

Pregnancy Support

With Chiropractic care and registered massage therapy, we can address Mum's ever changing needs during pregnancy and relieve discomfort (including back, pelvic, hip/sciatica, round ligament pulling, rib discomfort and more) as her body rapidly changes during each stage of pregnancy and prepares for birth.

Our Chiropractors are Webster Pregnancy Care Certified (trained to specifically work with expecting mothers) and offer special techniques to help Mum and baby stay safe and comfortable during the rapid changes in each stage of pregnancy, focusing on balancing the pelvis and relaxing the muscles and ligaments associated with Mum's changing needs. Chiropractic care has been shown to support the body and relieve discomfort as Mum's progresses towards labour and delivery.

After Birth Support

mom and baby

Receiving Chiropractic care after delivery is important, given the sudden change in the body and birth trauma experienced. Labour can cause changes in the pelvis and abdominal muscles which can lead to instability, this alongside birthing hormones still cycling through the body, allows for extra mobility in the joints. In order for Mum to get more physical support, our Chiropractors can offer gentle re-alignment and kinesio taping to help improve stability as the body recovers and regains strength. We can offer breastfeeding and sleeping postural advice for busy new Mums too.

Newborns & Kids

Newborns and children of all ages benefit from preventative care as they rebound from labour/birth challenges or trauma, as they experience growth spurts and as they go about their regular activities.

Chiropractic tailored to infants and children is a bit different than with adults and is extremely gentle. Babies are treated with less fingertip pressure than you would use for testing the ripeness of a tomato.

Chiropractic can address discomfort constipation, fussiness, Torticollis, flat spot/head turn preference and latching/breastfeeding issues, hip dysplasia and support youth development as they grow. Babies often eat, sleep and poop very well after a treatment - it goes to show how well babies function when their growing bodies are aligned! Our Chiropractors are members of The International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA) and provide safe and gentle care to kids of all ages.

Kirstin G. says...

"During the past two years my chiropractic needs have varied and changed immensely. She helped me heal from whiplash symptoms following a car accident, in which I was rear ended. Assisted me with TMJ and digestive issues. She kept me well adjusted during my first pregnancy... I trust Dr. Claudia Sacco so much I would without hesitation put my four day old baby in her hands. In between these big moments I continue to book visits for everyday care and maintenance. Before I end my praise, I will also mention that Dr. Claudia Sacco also helps us maintain our health and assist our recovery at home with great exercise tips, advice and recommendations for care such as massage and dietary supplements. It would be an extreme challenge to find a chiropractor in Calgary as passionate and truly caring as Dr. Claudia Sacco."
